How to take your makeup from day to night

Have a cocktail party after work but not enough time to go home and change your clothes and makeup? Changing your clothes is a breeze as you can quickly transform in your office bathroom, but redoing your makeup is another story.

Here are some simple tips to help you go from work or school directly to an evening soirée. Without having to completely redo your entire face.

The key to taking your day face to a nighttime makeover is keeping your daytime look simple. For daytime, you really only need an eye shadow, eyeliner and mascara, and you can tweak that look to give you a more sizzling look for the evening.

Transform your makeup in less than 5-minutes

It’s a Friday afternoon, you are just wrapping up work and you realize that you have to meet friends for happy hour at the bar around the corner in 15 minutes. But you are not feeling the idea of wearing your barely-there office makeup.

Here are three simple tips to bring back some life into your face in less than five minutes. Three of these hacks focus on your eyes, as that is the most important feature on your face.

Add a wing to your eyes with eyeliner, is one of the best ways to add a little smoky drama to your personality and to your tired eyes. Grab your favorite liquid gel eyeliner pen and drag it from the corner of your inner eye, towards the end and then flick it out. Fill it in spots you might have missed.

Grab your eyelash curler and curl your lashes and then define your eyes by adding another layer of mascara that will pump up your lashes. Use mascara that is waterproof and with a volumizing formula.

Eye shadow

No nighttime look is complete without a little shimmer. Apply a little sparkling glimmer shadow under your eyes. We guarantee everyone will think you spent more than 5 minutes prepping your eyes.

Lip liner

Using a darker shade of lip liner than the lipstick you plan to use, start lining from your lip bow outwards and then do the same from the middle of your bottom lip.

Apply your lipstick, and then do a quick blot with a tissue to remove the excess. Finish off the look by adding some lip-gloss to make your lips pop instantly.

You will have already applied a liquid or lotion foundation in the morning, so now it is only about touching up any spots that you have accidently rubbed off. Using a powder foundation touch any spots that need it and you’re ready to go.

Make sure you have with you at all times the following makeup items to re-tweak your face:

  • Lipstick
  • Lip-gloss
  • Powder foundation
  • Eyeliner
  • Glittery eye shadow
  • Mascara

With these simple items you can take your barely-there office face to a spectacular level, within five minutes.
